   The tool alignment process of CNC gear hobbing machine includes the following steps

Machine tool preparation. Before starting the tool alignment, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the machine tool is clean, flat, and free of debris. Check if all components of the machine tool are intact, especially if the tool clamping force is appropriate. Start the machine tool and CNC system for testing to ensure that the power supply is normal.

    Tool settings. Insert the tool correctly into the tool holder and clamp it on the machine tool. Set the tool width so that its center is parallel to the machine coordinate axis. Adjust the cooling system according to the material to ensure that the tool does not overheat during machining.

    Zero return. Select the zero point in the machining model to ensure that the selected zero point is within the gear insertion area and easy to locate. According to the coordinate axis where the zero point is located, the homing operation can be achieved by manually moving the tool holder or the CNC system. Adjust the zero point to ensure accurate positioning.

     Coarse tuning process. Place the cutting tool onto the tool holder, loosen the positioning wrench, and let the tool hang naturally. Adjust the height of the tool holder to match the workpiece. Move the positioning rod to the left, position the knife holder on the positioning table, and press firmly. The manual or automatic feed device pushes the gear and gear cutter to mask, adjusting the minimum distance between the cutting tool blade and the short axis of the workpiece to ensure the perfection of the mask.

     Fine tuning. After rough adjustment, make fine adjustments. Place the gear in the fixture of the matching machine tool, and then align the centerline of the workpiece with the centerline of the tool holder. Rotate the cam in the opposite direction and determine the fine adjustment distance of the entire system by visual inspection and hand touch. Rotate the cam to the end, control the fine adjustment distance of the teeth, adjust the pitch and depth of the gears to achieve the optimal state.

    Precautions. When operating the gear insertion machine, pay attention to safety and wear work clothes and safety helmets. When setting the knife, rough adjustments should be made first to ensure perfect masking, and then further fine adjustments should be made. During the operation, it is important to closely observe the status of the sample and the condition of the subsequent gears in order to make timely adjustments.
